A Worthwhile Experience

I was able to attend an event this week. It was a green enterprises tour somewhere in Metro Manila. The green enterprise tour involves visit to several livelihood programs of a foundation being managed by a political family. It was a worthwhile tour because I get to learn several opportunities to earn while doing something good for the environment. The foundation made it all possible for the residents of the city.

I felt tired after the tour that I just want to sleep on a memory foam mattress the whole day. But, if given another chance I would like to cover similar events in the future because it inspires me to write more meaningful blog post for my readers.

Exercise motivation

Given the motivation by friends, I think I’m gonna be hitting the exercise floor soon. I’ve got a group of friends who are really serious about losing weight. They are young and their willingness to reach their goal is irresistible. My good friend is so kind to share her personal fitness video showing how to achieve each step the proper way. The steps seem easy to follow. Some of our friends are already doing the exercise. Each one has high hopes to achieve their desired weight. It’s like a trophy for all their hard work to lose weight. I’m going to start my exercise routine probably next week.

The frustrated singer in me

I love to sing even as a child. I would imitate the voice of Lea Salonga singing ‘I am but a small voice’. But no one appreciates my singing prowess except myself. I don’t use a microphone so nobody can really hear me sing. I also tried playing the guitar through the help of my older (half) brother, who plays the guitar well. I don’t know if it s a Furman guitar, but the sound emanating from it is really clear. I decided to stop practicing because I can’t really follow him… I guess that sums up my being a frustrated singer and wannabe guitar player. ~fin~

Skin clinic visit part 2

I might be visiting Ardere Skin and Body Clinic before my birthday for another basic facial cleansing. I’m going to avail of the second GC that my husband gifted me. What’s good about visiting the skin clinic is that I felt like home and the staffs are very accommodating to clients especially to a first timer like me. The clinic is playing a piped in music to make their clients feel more relaxed while being attended to by their friendly staff. I’m going to meet them again soon.

There are several offices adjacent to the clinic on my way out. I wonder if I can find a Fender Custom Shop Bass in the vicinity (for friend who is on the look out for guitar case).

Distracted

by Facebook? Yes, but in a positive way. It’s not that I play online games or update my status on a regular basis. I spend a good number of hours in front of the computer reading and interacting with some of the FB groups that I’m a member of. I don’t feel like I’m wasting my time though, in fact, I’m learning new insights from friends and former classmates. It’s like getting to know them once again and learn that a few of them are actively involved in sports. One of them even showed his collections of motorcycle helmets on Facebook. He said that it’s still safe and convenient to travel via motorbike only if riders are responsible enough to use the vehicle.

Might be wearing reading glasses soon

I have been experiencing reading problems these past few months. I have to hold the printed materials and even pictures farther away from me. Does that mean I have an eye problem? My husband told me I may be farsighted.

Is it time to get myself a pair of reading glasses? I’ve read from a forum that when a person reaches 40, he begins to have a blurry vision. Admittedly, I’m experiencing one right now.

It would make a big difference reading the phrase “motorola batteries” if I’m wearing a pair of reading glasses next time. I really have to consult an ophthalmologist real soon.

An afternoon at the skin clinic

Last Saturday, I had my facial cleaning at Ardere Skin and Body Clinic at their branch in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. It was my first skin treatment in seven years. Thanks to hubby’s friend who gave him the gift certificates that I used for my treatment.

The GCs were good for two basic facial cleaning. My daughter was supposed to come with me so she could have her first facial treatment, but I had second thoughts at the last minute. She doesn’t have an acne problem yet, so maybe she can wait for another year or more before she can undergo any skin treatment

After my facial cleaning, Joan – the friendly attendant suggested that I avail the collagen mask to address my dry skin problem. I said yes. The mask stayed on my face for 5 to 10 minutes. The whole treatment lasted for less than an hour.

I’m really satisfied with their service and still planning to return next month for another facial cleaning using my remaining gift certificate. Thanks Ardere!

My birthday month

It’s my birthday this month and like any other birthday girl, I’d wish to buy something for myself. I saw this charcoal grey cashmere robes at RedEnvelope. I fell in love with it that I would like to hit the “order now” button right away. Good thing the mommy-who-wants-to-save-in-me prevails, otherwise, I would have a big problem with my budget for the next 30 days. I still love to have this cardigan because it can be a drape and a shawl in one, and I can use it anytime and anywhere I want. I’ve added it to my wish list now.

I resigned from my job in 2007 thinking that I could have a good chance in business. I thought of putting up a mini store, but it never happened because I never get anything from my previous job. Not even a token or a slick trick for the years of service. But that’s water under the bridge now. I have moved on. I get myself busy with online opportunities these days and thankfully I can still help my husband earn for the family even when I’m home.
